Well they turned 6 months Sunday and two of them have produced three eggs and a soft shell this week. Finally!!Galvinj I know the feeling! My black Australorps are 4 months old and I can't wait for eggs!

The other two should follow in a couple of weeks according to the the color of their combs and waffles.
When the comb and waffles turn bright red it is a sign of maturity and the pullet is ready to lay eggs. In nature it's a sign to the rooster that the pullet has matured.I'm somewhat new to chicken raising, how does the comb indicate when they'll start laying eggs?
