Show off Your Crested Ducks

Can crested ducks have tiny little crests or are they always big floofs ? My drake frick always has a little poof and I’m wondering if it’s a tiny crest

They can be tiny. We didn't even realize one of ours had one (thought it was just a feather or two that stood up funny) until one of the babies had a MASSIVE one.
The hatch before that we had two ducklings that never finished hatching and had holes in the skull that we thought were either caused by inexperienced broodies or happened post-mortem since insects found them before we did. But after realizing that there were crested genes in our flock we hadn't known about, that seems the likely cause for that, too.

This is Puff.

I got her as a day old in a group of assorted ducklings. It was apparent from the beginning that she had neurological problems. I thought she would be a special needs duck, but she has almost completely overcome/outgrown her issues. Now she lives a totally normal ducky life free ranging with her flock. She's a very friendly and adorable girl!

One of my Ancona hatchlings has a crest! I'm gonna have to name it something like "knives" or "spike"--some kind of 80s punk name.
