Show off your dogs!!!!!!!!!!!! **VERY PIC HEAVY!!**

I am a huge dog fan, especially of the shepherd , husky, malamute, retriever varieties. I've had dogs all my life, but, my last dog was by far, my favorite. He has been gone 3 years (next month), not a day goes by that I don't miss him.
He was a white shepherd/husky. He was my best friend and when I got married and had my first child, he became her guardian and her best friend. From the moment I brought my daughter home from the hospital and for 6 years he barely ever left her side. The only time he couldn't look at her, was the night he died. It was almost like he didn't want to say good bye to her. He was her babysitter always.

He died at age 13.

here he is about 6 years ago

he pretty much let my daughter do anything to him, he was so tolerant of her. He loved her, more then I've ever seen a dog love a human.

he accepted my son just as quick, but, his strongest bond was always for my daughter.

He was a beautiful spirit. My beloved Fletcher

My newest doggie members, are my two SPCA dogs. I got Koda first. He was found in a garbage dump with his littermates at about 7 weeks old.
He's cranky in the house, but, alot of fun outside, he loves to watch the fire, tv etc. I've had him 3 years now.

My second adopted dog is Buddy, he is a shepherd/ ???? I got him as an adult, not sure of his exact age, he was picked up by the SPCA as a stray. I've had him now 2 years. He is a big teddy bear, lap dog in the house, my constant shadow. Outside, he is a whole different dog, he will run away if given the chance and he has a very intense prey drive.

WOW!!! Nice looking dog you have there.

Thanks Sweet Cheeks!

Abbey is a 4th Generation Belgian for me. She's a real 'Photo Hound'! Any time there is a camera around, she is posing! She was one of the Top Show Belgian Sheepdogs for several years. She is now semi-retired but still gets to come out and play at Dog Shows every now and then!

Hearing about and seeing pics of Fletcher brings tears to my eyes. Sounds like he WAS one of those special ones for sure.

awe, thankyou, He was very special. I feel blessed to have hid him in my life and in my childrens. Everyone who met him, felt the same special 'thing' about him.

Buddy looks like a long haired German Shepherd.

Purebred too. He looks a lot like my Rex.
Other alternative is a King Shepherd. Depending on his body shape and size.

very interesting, I've never heard of the King Shepherd.

The only thing that isn't proper shepherd to me is his tail. He has a malamute type tail, not on his back curled tail, but he definitely curls it up. I kind of think he could be a cross of the two.
Not the best pics......but.

I definately see chow there. Looks to me like a chow/golden cross or could be chow/golden/shepherd. Chow mixes are extremely common and usually make great pets. My neice had a chow/shar pei/german shepherd mix and he was a great dog.

The blue on the tongue is not indicative of chow. My shepherds have that too and they are purebred.
From the body I say king shepherd. They are a mix with other northern breeds to get that bigger fuller body.
Long haired shepherds have that full tail, although they do not curl over the body.
Here is a good picture of one of my boys' tail.

Look into the King shepherds, that may be what he is.
