I realize the blue on the tongue isn't always indicative of Chow. I actually see it more in the bone structure and ear set. Chows have a heavier muzzle and more hooded ears than a LH GSD. And if the tail curls over the back...usually GSD's don't have that kind of tail. Although I have seen it a few times.

Whatever breed(s) he is, he's a gorgeous well taken care of dog!!

I had thought of Chow before as well, and learned in my research there are several breeds that have the purple on the tongues. I have alot of people tell me, chow, for that reason and that reason alone. I try to tell them that it is not only in the Chow breed. His body frame is not as boxy like a chow, he's longer and I know he's more fur then anything. He swims like a fish, there isn't much to him when he gets out of the water, haha.
Thanks Jamie,

I try to take care of my dogs and I think they are deserving of it after such a rough start. I don't know if I'll ever know for sure what he is , breed wise. he thinks he's a lap dog. Largest pomeranian I've ever seen.

This is my Chow, Raggie (Mi-Pao's Ragtime). I just lost him on December 22nd. He nosed open the door when I was bringing in groceries, and before I could catch him, he was hit and killed on the road. Only 3 years old. I miss him so much. He was a big goofball and so sweet.

This is our mini wire doxie CH Ez Goins Spring Loaded. My granddaughter winning her 1st Novice Jr Showmanship class. He's a great little dog, very loyal and sweet, and my bed-dog. But he's really dumb. It's really funny to watch him try and find our barn bunny. He'll be sniffing all over the place where the rabbit just was, and the bunny will be a couple of feet behind him, just looking at him.
