Emoji overload, LOL!

I already posted this in the call duck thread, but it bears repeating. I managed to snatch a cute video of the lil' tornado:

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Does he/she get a unisex name? Are you getting it sexed? (maybe at work?).

My hubby and I are at odds over the name. He wants to call it Pancake, I like either Peekaboo or Cocoa Bean. We're both extremely stubborn, so this could take a while.

As for sexing, yeah, we're bringing it into my old clinic this Saturday to get a full blood spectrum so we can test for gender, any hereditary problems, and get a baseline for the medical records so down the road if it ever falls ill we'll have that baseline to compare white blood cell count, platelets, iron levels, etc.

Oh boy, I forgot how draining it can be to raise an imprinted duck...I've got a baby peeping like crazy in one corner, and a pampered lil' drake quacking at me from another! To make matters worse, the little daredevil can ALREADY jump clear out of the brooder! I had to send my husband to home depot to try and find a box with higher walls to put him in for the night. Oh, brother...

It is well worth it for that very reason. The whole scenario is so funny. What is she, a pogo stick, a pole vaulter? Athletic little thing!!

She may as well be...she's lightning fast and can scale obstacles as quick as a bunny! I've been calling her "sneaky bean" because when I put her on my chest, she'll dart up my shoulder and shove herself between the pillow and the headboard faster than I can blink! That's another thing, she loves to burrow. I have literally never seen any bird dig underneath things as much as she does! She's brown and round and likes to be buried...maybe she thinks she's a potato?

that is hilarious, a potato. And a fast one, too. The burrowing is interesting. Maybe it's her subconsciously practicing zoomies under water. She's gonna whip around like nobody.
