WeeeeeeeeBEEEEEEEP!!! Her face. I see the sweetness. Very feminine soft looking little face. So cute. I am envious you get to pick her up and hold her to place her in the tub. She is a wonderful girl. Look at her pancaking in her sleep on the socializing blanket. Angel. The personality difference between the two is amazing. Just goes to show why non human beings are so incredible. Thank you for the treat, Tony. Note her web on the tub floor. We had chapter 2 of the DOD program last night. This time our temporary house duck was Tella. She is Ettie's sister. They came from the same brood and were brooded farm style by their mama (who we never met). We got them at about 6-8 wks old. They are the only ducks that weren't brooded by us.
Here is the sweet face pic for Julie![]()

Tella is much more comfortable with us that Ettie and this was reflected in her visit. Ettie would eat the peas I threw in the tub, Tella would eat them from my fingers...

Also Ettie tried non-stop to get off the socializing blanket. Tella also initially wanted to go out, but didn't get aggressive or nip at us. She finally decided to hang out for a bit and had some worms then took a nap before her stay in the dog crate.

Tella's not the tamest duck we have, but she is way calmer than her sister. And calmer than some of the ducks that "imprinted" on us as 'lings.
So although a lot of the equation is environment, the breed, and imprinting, some of it is just the duck.![]()
You don't need that, Momma... you is pretty without it, he says...

Cute face shot AND the obligatory single web showing... you done it now... gonna have to make sure you get a pic like that of each one for her now, lol...We had chapter 2 of the DOD program last night.
