Yeah, I dunno what is about warm water and lizard-brained animals. My pet snake, my friend's tegu, and countless waterfowl all just seem to "let loose" when they're in a warm bath!

Meh. Having a feathered perma-infant is stretching my maternal instinct as it is. Also ducks don't have opposable thumbs. Bonus!

Im starting to notice huge similarities between ducks and toddlers. My babies dont mind being picked up but dont touch them while they are exploring. And they mouth EVERYTHING. We have hit the biting stage especially with Pickles he's a male. Oh and if I dont shave my legs and wear pants Pickles will happily pluck them for me. Let me just say OUCH!!

Ooooh, double-ouch...in a way I'm kinda glad Wobbles turned out to be a drake, since otherwise I'd have an uncharacteristically nippy female! And ha, that's so true about the mouthing. Although really, a duck's bill is kinda the only "finger" he's got to grasp with, so ya can't blame them!

Speaking of nipping, I was wondering if anyone else has a cranky duck after showering? It's weird, but every time I get out of the shower and Misty is in the living room or my bedroom, she runs after me and tries to bite at my feet and hands. Like she's attacking me, she'll get ahold of my skin and twist back and forth! And lunge at me trying to bite over and over again, it doesn't matter how much I tell her off or tap her bill she still does it. I was thinking maybe I smell different and she doesn't like that? Because she isn't alone, my mom is almost always with her at the time.

Quote: You should also be glad that you don't have to deal with eggs and egg complications. Misty might need surgery to remove an egg that's been stuck for almost two months! I'm waiting for an estimate from the vet for that!
