Practice putting things on his head and training him with treats in the meantime, as young as you can start, so when the time comes he won't mind his handsome costume. Your duck is still a baby right? What breed is he? I'll need to find a good estimation of head size hahaha

Oh wow, the leathery, hard-core realistic look would be hilarious on top of a teeny tiny call duck. XD She's tiny, even as call ducks go.

She is beautiful!! Lol does she peck at your feet too? My hair is long, past my waist. I wouldn't mind if I had short hair. It just scares me that Quackers will get my hair stuck in his stomach.

Yes she does...she only does it when we are outside.

Yep....I can understand about the hair....my hair ain't that long, but I still pull back a few times when she's whipping my butter for the same reason, I don't want her to choke or break a hair off or anything.

You just gotta fill out some paperwork with an organization such as the Humane Society or Pet Partners, pay a fee, take a training course and the wait for them to approve it and send you the little vest and certificate.

Thank you guys. Yeah, she was awesome. That was my kid. I love all my rescues but that one was different. She went everywhere with me & was my girl. She'd dance & sing & I just don't know how I'm going to sleep without her ducky dabbles in my ear. I really thought I'd have her longer than that. They live for a while, right? I just figured whatever the lifespan was of an outdoor "normal" duck is she would have had to live longer inside.
But thank you, I remember why I loved coming to this site.

My Floki is a personality too....it's amazing how they each have their own.

But, I'm so sorry about your baby. We've only had her 4 months now, and just like any pet, they become apart of the family right away...so I think we all feel your pain.

Those are little black spots on his feet!  He's a Pekin, so I'm not sure why he has spots on his feet; our female didn't have them.  He only puffs up his crown when he has something important to say - like the cats or dog are too close to Daddy  

My guy puffs up all the time, but he's not a house duck so I'm probably the threat he's puffing at lol "Give me those greens OR ELSE!"
