ANIMAL ASSISTANT THERAPY PROGRAM?! Oh my gosh, you're living my dream! Congrats, sweetie! I'm actually relieved, you just vanished so I thought something had gone wrong. i'm glad you're ok. <3

Since you're so busy, does this mean you can't finish the diapers or hat? If so I completely understand. I'd just like to be sure before I order some from a lesser seamstress. ;)

Things have escalated with the cats. This morning Mochi swatted at her after she nipped his tail, and now she is openly attacking him, lowered head, hissing and all! I don't know what to do anymore. ._.

It's pretty amazing. I'm super excited to get to at least give it a try! The hardest part is finding the money and building materials.

The hat is more of a challenge than I anticipated - mostly finding the right fabric to hold the shape I want in miniature =P But it's going! I'll email you =)

ChaCha doesn't play well with others. She chews on furry animals so the bunnies are terrified and the dog wants to kill her. I just have to keep them separated. I use a puppy pen to keep them apart. I wish I could give a more helpful outlook!

I feel rotten separating them though, since Wobbles has to be with me 24/7 and prior to her arrival, Stupicabra was my baby. He's pretty depressed now. So I feel really rotten for having to keep him separated from me, too. Mochi however is the one with the predatory instinct, and he really scared me this morning. But I never imagined she'd retaliate the way she did! I don't want her to attack ALL the kitties, ALL the time!

I'm certainly not a duck behavior expert, I can only go off what Trina and ChaCha have taught me, and both those experiences were "not good with other animals". I know there are people on here with ducks and dogs/cats that live in harmony, I'm just not one of them. You might have to wait and hope one of them responds. ChaCha has no idea she is a duck so consequently she doesn't seem to understand that she is prey to the dog. Hopefully they can help you with your animal relationships!

Thankfully we have a household with 2 dogs and a cat....and they all get along great....even the cat will lay by Floki, no prob.

Our larger dog, Daisy, she actually protects and watches out for Floki.

We had to watch our Aunts dog, who was a westie, and would not leave Floki alone to no end. But Daisy protected Floki and make sure that the dog stay far away from her. It was kind of amazing to see.

But I think when it comes to certain dogs not getting along with the ducks, it might have something to do with the breed.....you kno some breeds were bred for hunting small game and birds.

It may get better as she ages. Misty used to be much worse than she is now, I have two dogs and a cat + some smaller animals that she is kept away from. She would go after the cat just the way you described, I told her off with a stern "NO!" and she hasn't payed any attention to the cat in the last couple months. She still occasionally goes after the dogs toes, but stops when I tell her off. She also started to ignore the rats and rabbit through their cages. Misty is only 6 months old.

One of my dogs is a Yellow Lab which is one of the "bird dogs", but she was raised around small animals, so I'm sure that's why she's good with Misty, or at least tolerates her.

My grandparents dogs are also fine with Misty, one of them is a hound mix that was very interested in her until she nipped his toes, now he's a little afraid of her! The other dog, I'm not sure what mix she is couldn't care less about her.

Have you been giving Wobs more attention than the Kitties? Could be a jealously or possession thing. Batman and Furball are jealous Kitties. When I'm giving someone attention one of them (if not both) will come running and jump on my lap or rub on my leg purring wanting attention. Before they would bite or swat at whoever I was giving attention to. When they started that I would tell them "no" sternly and push them away and keep giving whoever attention. Whenever they would come and purr and not attack whoever else then I'd give both attention. They stopped being aggressive and now understand that they'll only get the attention they are seeking if they are nice.

Mr. Humphries used to be the one who I really had to watch out for. He's grabbed Quackers by the neck twice (never punctured him or anything, just was rough). Once I'd see Humphries starting to stalk him I'd say no. Usually he'd listen and just watch Quackers. The times he wouldn't listen I'd grab him behind his neck and hold him down and say no. Then I would wait til his body relaxed to let him go. Sounds kinda mean but it's what alpha cats do to assert their dominance. It's worked very well for me. They know I'm the boss and they better listen Lol.

I don't have a problem with them anymore more. I still keep a close eye on them, watching them to correct any aggressiveness before it happens. They still like to play with each other. Pouncing along side of Quackers, or stalking Quackers on top of my bed lol. Quackers does like to tease them and run around the house to get them to chase him, but when he is done playing he'll come running to me and sit right next to me and the cats know "playtime" is over and will walk away.

Meow and Juju don't even pay him any attention. Even when Quackers is pecking at Meow she'll just lay there. If he pecks her feet she'll just get up look at him then walk away lol.

Batman and Furball, SQUEE! But yeah, I guess I have been giving Wobs more attention because, well, she has to be near me 24/7 and so by default the cats don't spend as much time with me. At night when shes put into her pen they get all the snuggles they want at night. But I know it's a difficult transition for them, and now that's compounded by Wobbles hissing and attacking! Although, she only does it to Mochi now. She realized that Stu is harmless (read: too stupid to attack). So...progress...?

What about try having Mochi sit on your lap as you pet him with Wobs on the floor & beak taps and no's every time Wobs starts being mean? When Wobs is calm then giving her some pets while Mochi is still on your lap. Then do it vice versa. If neither can be nice then no one gets attention.
