Well we did also breed my golden retriever when I was 12 and it was a great experiance! (Even though she had 12 pups and then got mastitis and all had to be fed by hand!) Also that my family and vet want the puppies. And that she is a rare color of lab and not very prominant in the U.S. But I didnt know there were health issues surrounding breeding a dog.... My vet never told me.That's what they all say.And why do you want to breed her in the first place? What would you do with the puppies? <insert typical kennel worker spiel about how many animals rot in adoption centers bla bla bla> Plus as I said, intact females do have a real risk of developing uterine cancer as they age. Just part of the suckiness of having their evolutionary line inbred and put into hyperdrive, I guess.
