Show off your house ducks!

She's scared of everything. Poor thing's a neurotic mess! And don't get me started on electronics...my first trip to the emergency vet was when Wobbles stuck his bill into my computer's USB port and snapped his nail right off. ducks are weird.
Awe, your ducks sure have had some growing pains. Wobbles is a curious little sort. I remember you telling us about the USB thing a while ago. Did the nail ever grow back?

Poor little fraidy Bean. I feel bad for her.

Yeah, they really do. :/ I feel sooo bad for Bean, I think part of why she's such a nervous wreck is because of Wobbles. I don't know what to do, I want her to be happy but if they don't bond by next mating season I may have to resort to rehoming her into a place where she won't be bullied and can finally just relax! If only she were imprinted on people...sigh.

@Scovy Momma AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH that's so awesome!! You got your baby and can raise her and she'll be an awesome duck and you'll be Scovy Momma again! I'm so happy for you!

@LadyHawkeAvry I'm so sorry...I wish I could just edit the universe and make your life less hectic, you've had blow after blow, and I wish you could be at peace and you and your family could enjoy good health. Hugs and well-wishes to you and your mom.
I hope you do not have to rehome her. Thru you I have fallen in love with her and will never get the sight of her flying out of my mind nor her getting tubed. But I understand for her sake it may be best not to live in constant fear and turmoil. Let's cross our fingers things work out.

Here's my boy Odette! (I know its a girls name, thought he was a girl when he was a baby

I love Odette. So cute and he loves you. Adorable close up face.

Hmmm, Amy, with Bean, maybe you should just leave some things in her cage slowly, or put it in before she's in, so she can check it out..like the piece of watermelon.. If she's that scared of things, inside I think she might be worse outside..maybe play something on YouTube like soothing music for anxiety LOLL I put on bird and nature sounds on YouTube for my brat babies when I leave..Laugh out loud it actually calms them down. They like sounds loll I think Scott mama said somethin about doing that too. Bean is too cute for words. I hope she settles down!!

@Amykins , how old was Wobbles when you got him his first adult diaper?

Hmm. I wanna say 4-5 months? He still had a bit of growing to do, but that's about the time when his grow-with-me diapeys weren't cutting it anymore.

I don't think it'll come to that, it's just an absolute last resort if it becomes painfully clear she can't be happy inside with people. She still has little moments of joy, like today how she was happy as a clam in my lap, making clucking sounds and giving me duckie kisses. But the moment my hands came into view, SQUAWK SQUAWK BITE! Hehe...that tubed video still makes me laugh. The best bit is the end when you hear "pop!" as she comes out!

We took 'em to the park today, and they were in 7th heaven. It got cut short however, when a group of kids came by and asked to hold her. I told them she was afraid of people and that it was best to leave her alone, but they responded by chasing her around and throwing handfuls of grass at her! Poor Bean darted under the bench to escape but one of the littler ones crawled under there and she ran for the hills. My fiance and I had to tag team her to get her back in her carrier after that. Ugh, horrible, nasty children...even my ducks listen better than they did. Wobbles straight up attacked their shoes, so that's why they focused their attention on Bean.

These are my duckie babies, and goodness do I love them!I am fairly new to the duck world, these two are my first. Not sure if I have male or female or one of each. I have had them since hatchlings and have tried everything to figure out the sex (well, almost everything). :) I am enjoying everyone's pictures!

Oh that makes me mad about the stupid kids. I can't think about that. Hopefully if you go back the same gang won't be there.

On to better things: I love how she sat in your lap and clucked cheerfully. It seems some birds for the most part hate hands. Mine do. I can get my face or head really close to them and they don't flinch but the hands and they are off like rockets. Somehow they know what hands are for.

Oh, they are so cute. I like your photos of them as babies and then as adults.
