Show off your house ducks!

The females are VERY noisy! I love calls though, wouldn't give 'em up for the world. Bean is quiet in the night as long as she can see me. I'm not sure about house hens AND ducks together though, especially with a roo in the home! They both have different diets, feeding habits and environmental needs, so it'll be a handful to try and cater to them both while still keeping the peace. I'm less worried about a scovy sitting on a hen and more worried of the hens pecking the bejeezus outta the duck, LOL!
I'm really not too worried about the differences in care, I've already got solutions to the things of concern I've read about. Going the extra mile to make my animals comfortable is what I'm all about, and it tends to not seem a chore to me. I'm also not worried about the temperament of my hens, especially not with muscovy as my first choice. They've all got the aggression levels of a cream puff, tried and true with chickens and more. That's why I worry about having a scovy who forces himself on the hens.. they're not going to be able to fight him off, even for all the want in the world. They'd just cry for me to come help.

Drakes can be absolute brutes, even their own kind can suffer greatly for their rudeness. The more and more I think about it, I think a female muscovy is a better choice, broodiness or not. Too big to be pushed around (or permanently adopted by my Ultra Mom hen) but without the interest in getting on top of anyone else.

These are my 4, penny a Indian runner cross, pancake my Cayuga cross, peanut my only drake a Indian runner cross and Pippa who's a mixture of Cayuga, runner and mallard.... We think!

They love live in a large garden but love coming into the house, they jump up on to the bed and sofas and plonk themselves down next to or on us.

Iv taught them all to jump, which wasn't a great idea as do find muddy duck prints on the sofa and chairs

It's too cute! The one with the babies all snugged up in your collar, d'awwww... <3 I miss having such tiny babies. Mine are still snuggly, though. It's been hot as blazes here lately, yet both Wobbles and Bean will do whatever it takes to clamber on up onto the lovesac where I spend my days while recuperating. If they aren't able to jump up they'll poke their heads over and stare at me longingly. Cute lil' things.

I loved them as ducklings as they are so cute and snuggle but watching the grow with their own goofy personalities is brilliant! They still like to snuggle up into my neck now they're fully grown but they fight for space as you can see in the other pics which always makes me chuckle.

People think I'm crazy when they see pictures but I have to admit, snuggles from a duck are way better than a cat or dogs! Lol

Hmm, I won't say better, just different. I have a kitty that likes to be snuggled like a teddy bear, he'll actually worm his way underneath my arm as I sleep and I'll wake up hugging him to my chest. He's a weirdo like that. :p

But yes, duck snuggles are awesome! Looking back I wish I'd pouch-trained mine or something. They love their carriers but it'd be amazing if I could carry them in my jacket hoodie or something like that.

That would be amazing, though I have 4 ducks so I think they would get a little jealous if I can only carry one around at a time.
My cat isn't very cuddly unfortunately. Would love it if she
