Show off your house ducks!

LOL probably! He didn't take kindly to the Choose Goose outfit and kept trying to chew on his little tiny shoulder poofs. He's pretty tolerant of stuff on his back, though. But Bean? I dunno, I guess we'll have to see how much she agrees to be dressed up. And her coloring is weird! She still has the same colors, but there's more white on her red feathers now, she almost looks peach-colored in spots. It's super pretty. <3

And remember this...

BAAA HA HA! Oh, how prophetic that was...I love it. <3 And I've never seen a call duck like Bean either, I have no idea who her parents were so I couldn't recreate her odd pattern if I tried. All I can do is hope that she and Wobbles form a pair bond and make some Bean-colored babies with Wobbles' build and stature!

Hmmmm...hey, I got it! She can go as a s'more! She's white, brown, caramel and grey, it just sorta fits :p

S'more sounds the best of what you've come up with. I'd love to see that. I was thinking you could make her a tiny dinosaur.

Beanosaurus Rex, haaaaaaa! Or how about Nyan Cat? Not sure how that'd work...but it could be fun to try!

Oh also Scovy, I do have one recent photo. It's my friend Annie giving her a big wet kiss while she was being boarded last week :p

Ermagarsh! She looks like a rootbeer float!

Edit: Beanzies looks like a rootbeer float, not your girl Annie. She looks like a pretty lemonade!

LOL I read ya, no worries. Annie's like me, our hair changes color more often than a mood ring, ha! She's like a melted candy bar. It's kinda nice, she reminds me of my cat Snickers who died not too long ago. It's like a tiny piece of her lives on in Bean.

Maybe just a little cape that ties around her neck & tail, she's all melty goodness on her own!

That's as close to a Snickers duck costume I could find

We did a hatch of 4 call ducks with mama duck indoors. It definitely requires 24/7 attention.

We fenced them off in a corner of the room, where they would stay for a couple hours at a time. Then they'd go outside for 30 minutes of supervised play, then back inside. Once they were put to bed at dusk they would be quiet all night until the crack of dawn. They got used to being herded down the hall and out the door, and mama helped us by leading and calling them. She knew how to get outside already so she was a big help, but the little ones would still need help finding their way sometimes. You may find it easier just to put everyone in a carrier to take them outside, but we had too much fun watching them figure it out.

For their pen, if there is an inch to squeeze through, ducklings will make it out and then stand there peeping for mama. Definitely make it a very tight enclosure, with at least 2 feet tall walls. I had to change the bedding daily. Several layers of newspaper with straw on top made quick work of that. Just fold up the paper, toss, and replace with new.

For their food, I used a large flower pot saucer and put a shallow bowl in the middle. Their food went into the saucer and the bowl in the middle had water along with some rocks in it so they couldn't tip it over, (and they did try). I would refill the water and let extra spill out to moisten their feed. I had to top up their feeder every couple hours. The set up worked well being circular, so they could all find a spot to eat (though the best spot apparently was to be standing in the water bowl).

After the first week, we even had daddy in with them for a few nights (he got so lonely and after watching his behavior around the little ones, we trusted him). They would all snuggle down for the night and be up bright and early, quacking to be let out.

At week 3 we put them outside in the big pen for good. The weather was warm and they did just fine.

Sadlyx no baby duckies for ChaCha. Two of the the eggs hatched - I thought the first one was an accident, but ChaCha definitely killed the second one! She was furious that that strange thing was in her nest! Very protective of the eggs, but she didn't understand what came out of them - being human and all. So sad :hit
