Show off your house ducks!

I just realized I might live much too far of a distance from you for hatching eggs

Don't you live in Washington? I live in Alabama

...Oh. Hmmm...that is a problem. What if I overnighted them? If I sent 7 or 8, I'm sure at least a few would arrive with intact air cells, maybe?

Winter all grown up and beautiful! QUOTE] Oh WOW she is so pretty!
These call ducks are so cute. They are loud though aren't they? Thats the only reason Ive been wanting a pekin over a call duck.
ChaCha is a crested pekin and she via EARSPLITTING when she isn't perfectly content. I think it's more of a female vs. male thing, but if you really want quiet you should look into a muscovy =)
It IS a fun word! I haven't said it lately 'cuz I can't talk yet... :sick And yeah, Hils is a sweetie. I love him so much. [/URL] Also it never fails: The moment they finally stop to do something cute, they'll immediately ruin it the exact nanosecond the shutter snaps. But in the end, perseverance (and the ability to hold a camera still for about 20 minutes) paid off and we got our glamor shot!....Until you learn that you in your infinite wisdom accidentally turned the flash on and accidentally made your duck look like an apparition. Forget duck math, I think the odd, inexplicable anomaly that somehow changes a duck's behavior once observed is worthy of study. I shall call it Billecular quantum webistry.
Holy cope lady Bean is gorgeous! DH has officially picked a call duck as our next duck lol he LOVES wobs pictures

At the very least I would want eight!
Where in Washington do you live?

I had 6 peafowl eggs sent to me in Gilroy from PA (about 3000 miles) via USPS one day. All had funky, wiggly air cells, were rested for 48 hours, and out of those 6, all started and 5 made it to lockdown.

I had eight Call eggs sent to me in Alabama from Cali (27 hours) and only one began to develop, all the others had scrambled :( The one that began development did thrive and hatch though! He is now a beautiful Grey Pied boy that my friend took home as well as two other Calls I hatched for her, a Blue girl and Grey boy! With that being said, I am going to try more from Cali if the hens start laying again!

And yeah, Hils is a sweetie. I love him so much. <3 I feel bad though, I'm only on day 2 of recovery and I get the feeling he's already getting pretty worn out, heh. Now he knows how I feel having to clean the house, cook meals AND take care of the ducks all day!

Also you thought the Wobbles photo was good? Well...yeah it is. I love that fat widdle turnip. But Hils got a great snapshot of a very sneaky Bean trying to chat to strangers on the internet! Naughty girl!

She is so very orange sauce worthy!

It's like she has a patina to her...or like when my darks get bleached in the wash

well, once you heal up, u will be saying it to them. Wow, Bean on the laptop. She so koot. And that photo of Wobbles starting to streak by is funny. I am glad to see the two diminutive web footed bewrds in close proximity. They both display puffness and roundness. And your scientific statement at the end was way too cool. It is cool Hils reciprocates by taking care of you. He's a keeper.

Only on the house ducks thread could I take streaking that way.
