Show off your house ducks!

I think she's adorable. It's just in what you get used to that you have have this initial, "Wow, that's a big nose!" reaction. It's the same for me with cats. I used to breed Persians and they're the only type of cat I've ever owned. To me, every cat other than a Persian looks like it has a really big nose.

LOL welcome to call duck ownership! It's amazing how quickly they became my new "normal". Now I can't even look at a mallard, let alone a runner or a hookbill, without thinking "Gadzooks look at the schnozz on that thing!"

Good luck with that, Lynn. I don't know how your TSC is, but the feed stores here won't allow you to even touch ducklings unless you're buying them. They say it's because of potential spread of disease, but I've always suspected it's because they don't want you sexing them and buying up the females.
I won't necessarily get them from TSC again. They didn't even know what ducks they had, how to care for them, etc. They didn't look happy. I basically got my ducks like a lot of people.. just because they were cute. Luckily, I am the kind of person who loves animals and was willing to do whatever it took and the research it took to make sure my ducks would be happy and healthy. I spoil them rotten but they're just so darn cute! Always have been! I look back at old photos of when they were ducklings and wish someone knew something to make ducks stay that darn cute!

Plus I'm nearsighted and they would have to hold up each one of them for me to examine. I have gray hair which also helps.

You're a sweet person and a good mom. It makes me very happy to hear from people like you.

Awh thanks gal. I really appreciate that! I love my ducks as if they're my real children. I'm sure many many other people can relate to that feeling!
Yeah, I definitely can, and I love finding others like that. There are so many beautiful people on BYC, but I guess that's why we all congregate here. I'm in a state of panic over my duck that died on Sunday.

Jade or Gina is fine, BTW.
