Show off your house ducks!

it does count Scovy Momma. I do have a dumb thing that happened this am b4 work that's not birb related. I opened my freezer and the powdered Gatorade mix container's lid wasnt sealed all the way. Well it fell to the floor cuz I had set it on the seam between the door and the appliance without thinking and it fell to the floor scattering powder everywhere. I was furious.

I agree, it TOTALLY counts. I swear there are days where I am one eye-twitch away from making me a pair of cat-skin gloves or put a foot-sized mark on the birb's behinds!

Crash went to fly down off the back deck steps this morning and caught too much air... turned left, then right, then left again and ended up flying over the top of the house... screamed her head off til I rescued her...

Nope, not enough...

Well, until last month Lady Grey spent every second of every day trying to eat Crash & Burn since the day they hatched... 3 Calls tearing around the house every day was a constant battle...

And Lady Grey still chases the poor dog out of his bed and tries to cover it in poop...

Oh man, that sounds AWFUL! Wobbles was a jerk to Bean when she hatched, too. But the roof thing is just, wow. I would clip the heck outta Bean's wings if she did that! It's bad enough that she can fly juuuuust well enough to clear her nighttime pen and land on my face at 4 in the morning...

Duh. Phone rang & I hit submit too soon.

Anyway they ignored it until the fateful day. They all got in. The pond is under an apple tree (another dumb move) so leaves and apples fall in and I have let the cleaning of it go a little too long. It was full of rotten apples and rotting leaves and whatever muck forms in the bottom with no filter (after a few years). I happened to look out and wondered why there were suddenly brown ducks (did I mention I am very nearsighted). I thought maybe strange ducks had gotten in the yard somehow. When I got up close I realized

Awe, poor little sweet Crash. Were you scared she got away like that? I feel bad she got stressed.

Nah, was just worried she'd land on the roof and be too scared to takeoff from there... she landed nice and perfect, but couldn't see any of us... she was fine and learned, lol...

I thought Lady Grey flew really high, but Crash beat her in that today... they're usually very good with their flights, just once in a while something screwy happens...

Yeah, not having a duck try to eat the 2 smaller ones anymore is a relief... plus they're both bigger than her now, lol... all it took was the big ducks outside scaring the crap outta the young ones and Lady Grey got offended since that was HER job, lol...

that they were not strange just disgusting. Covered in that gross goop from the bottom. And the smell. Uggg! They were very proud of themselves. They destroyed all the plants and didn't even touch the duck weed that was for them.

But again you can always crate them and put your feet up and drink tea or something stronger (much stronger). You will calm down and can then mutter under your breath (or out loud if it makes you feel better) while spending the next hour cleaning up the mess that was made.

And you won't be visited by social services for crating your ducks. Lol

It'll get better. Mama said there'd be days like this. You will look back at this and laugh. Really. Hugs.

I don't mind dressing her up at all, even if she's a he either!
Buuut maybe not pink...I'm not a very pink person....I do love red! I know, I know: pink is just lightish red!:lau
I know I've said it before, but geez girl, you're a mean needle wielder!

Thanks! I'm having way too much fun.

I'm with you! I LOVE pale pink (I hate barbie pink) but I don't like red at ALL hahaha

It's ok, pink is not for everybody! I just think it looks super cute on ChaCha. I have lots of other good color sets like purple and blue and teal. I can find just about anything color wise.

Guys, I'm having one of those days...already in a bad mood, and the ducks are doing everything in their power to exacerbate it!  Wobbles ate some pine shavings this morning, then Bean greeted me by biting me right o the bridge of my nose, causing it to bleed. She then soaked both of her diapers - somehow - so they're currently unwearable. She also knocked over the water dish and spilled BOTH food bowls, and Wobbles in turn scattered the soggy food everywhere and trampled it into the carpet.. And just ten minutes ago she managed to un-do the velcro on her diaper and has splattered poop all over my bed!

I can't do this. They're both in bathtub time-out while I'm trying to stop myself from having a conniption fit. God, I'm glad I don't have kids. I'm pretty sure I'd be dead from acute stress five times over if I did.

Do any of you guys have "Bad Duck Days"? I could use some funny stories to help get me through today without killing something!

While doing the weekly flock flip over foot inspection, I flipped one of my girls and noticed she had been dabbling in some ducky-Montizuma's revenge.:sick
Her bill was just covered and the breath! :sick
I told her that her breath was horrible.
Just then she turned her head and shoved her bill between my lips :sick :sick :sick

And love that bird soooo much I let my wife finish with her feet before I set that duck down and gargled with turpentine... :sick

You could have a beautifully warm pair of feather down slippers, wouldn't be a matching pair but that's character.
