Show off your house ducks!

I like that avatar I had to take a second look to make sure it was you.  lol  Not that you look like a Scovy.

I would hate to guess who you thought it was :lau

[Well as often as Opie is in I thought maybe he was impersonating you and that was a pic of his best girl ];)

And I thought I was the only one with BYC account hijacking ducks.

I'm looking to transform my basement into a duck garden/house until we move. I want kale, and all. Here's a pic of their basement/room now. I will add more lighting. I want to completely redo it. Plants, pool and all. I already got a pool. I ordered one of the big, vinyl index pools with a drain but it needs a deck, ramp, etc. I want any/all ideas and suggestions to get this done asap so then I can get started on redoing the newborn/ toddlers room before he arrives.

I need to go away from the computer for a while, but one thing to work on if necessary is ventilation and the reduction of likelihood of mildew from the moisture. There are things that can be added to paint, like borax, and perhaps other things, to keep mold from forming. We don't have painted surfaces yet (but I plan to ). So I just periodically spritz the walls and surfaces with a mixture of clear vinegar and tea tree oil and a little spearmint oil. I also have a dehumidifier, but my long term goal is not to need it. The biggest effort I need to put forth to prevent mildew is in the spring, when the basement walls are chilly, and that first wet, warm day. Open the door and right away the cold walls start condensing the water vapor in the air. This is something I am working on - I would much rather just use a stain or a paint or other treatment than keep the humidifier. But till I get it all squared away, that's my temporary solution.

Wow! Please keep us up to date on what you're doing. I've been thinking about bringing ours in for the winter but using an unused room in the basement that we used to use as an office.

I've tried 3 times to post a pic from my phone. It gets to the embedding page and nothing happens. Any ideas?

This is how you do it in Android...
First you click on the "picture" icon...
400

This brings up a selector that allows you to source the image from one of 3 places: Your device, an old BYC image, or an address on the web. To get one from your device, click on the "Upload files" button...
400

From here it is OS dependant but you select an image (or multiple images) like so:
400

Once you have done this you get a download dialog where you select your size then click submit:
400

On a phone you will get the mark up describing the image:

Don't mess with it... If you want to see how it looks before you post click the preview button:
