Show off your house ducks!

I never knew any of this. Anyone who would intentionally do that to their ducks is a horrible person, I'm sorry but oh my, it makes me want to cry. I've always wondered how they get the little poof.
I know how you feel! People always asked me what made the pouf on ChaCha so I finally researched it and was so sad!
Julie honey! Pick me up on your way. I'll call in *cough-cough* & Wobbeans will get extra loves! :D Then again, I just took 3 days off work to keep an eye on my Serama egg hatching & the silly little shell head decided to pip late & stay in there forever :/

Thanks. I wasn't sure which is why I asked for other opinions. Same if it's a chicken egg. Make sure the membrane is moist. What size is your egg?Aren't serama way tiny and harder to hatch?
Seramas can be crazy hard to hatch! I stayed with speed eggs. Took over 90 eggs to get my first actual pair! But now I'm a pro ;) they are totally worth the effort too!

Welcome welcome welcome! !! We love new house ducky people. What cute little feather balls you have there too!
Aren't they SO CUTE?! Yep, I'm wanting him inside the house too but I have enough room that if I wanted a pair of them I could. I will have to see how Dandy is with him when he gets bigger.:D Dandy tends to be a little moody:rolleyes: I just love your Pygmy Finchy Ducks! So teeny!
House serama are awesome! When Taco's mate died we immediately made a house pet of him. He roosted by my head at night and just hung out with me all day! He wore a diaper all the tone so i never needed to cage him until we got him a new girlfriend. They make such awesome little pets!
How's the little guy doing?
I'm looking to transform my basement into a duck garden/house until we move. I want kale, and all. Here's a pic of their basement/room now. I will add more lighting. I want to completely redo it. Plants, pool and all. I already got a pool. I ordered one of the big, vinyl index pools with a drain but it needs a deck, ramp, etc. I want any/all ideas and suggestions to get this done asap so then I can get started on redoing the newborn/ toddlers room before he arrives.

Way to go! That's amazing! I would kill for an awesome indoor set up like that. How do the duckies like it?

Here's my kids digging in mud in my garden I am slowly disassembling and in their new pool which we all love. Deep enough for them to actuality swim plus has a drain. Fantastic!
Where did you get that awesome pool! I want one for ChaCha! We are trying to move but the more fancy stuff I get her the better we get to plan for her own bedroom =D Anyone interested in Halloween Costumes? I've been sewing like a mad woman but I haven't gotten to take pictures yet. So far I have Aurora (pink or blue), Belle, Tiana, Cinderella, Merida, Tinkerbell, Ursula, and Maleficent. I'm working on super hero capes for the boys ;)

I have a 21 month old girl and my son is due in Feb. My daughter causes JoJo more harm than he would ever cause him. Don't let the kid play in duck pokp or poopy water. Don't let the duck run around your house with crap all over him. I over sanitize Ryleigh.. Lol..but the biggest thing is making sure when ur child is playing with the duck to wash their hands good before they stick them in their mouth, with a toddler it seems impossible but I make it work. Plus I work full time. You just have to get a schedule going as with anything else in a child's life. She has never got sick from a duck disease as my dh would say and he is a spaz about it

Thats awesome :) i have a 7 yr, 3 yr, 2 yr and 4 month old and im a stay at home mom. I might try in a few years. Idk how I feel about the littlest crawling around because he would be putting everything in his mouth. But maybe when he can walk and understand better. I love the idea tho. Ducks are so precious :)

I would make the same choice. Its hard with a 2 yr old. My drakes mate passed a few months ago so he became a house duck, it was fine yet my husband and I agreed we couldn't have him upstairs with a newborn so a few weeks ago I got another duck so he moved back to the basement with her. He liked being a house duck but hes a lot happier now. He would just go from room to room staring in mirrors for hours, I felt so bad. Plus we didn't want a baby on the floor, exactly like you said and I wanted him to adjust to his new mate before the new baby arrives and I had less time for him

@kukupecpec, they love their room in the basement, its big which makes it easier to clean, and if the weathers nasty I can fill up a pool right there for them. I'm working on making a little indoor garden and better lighting for them. I have windows so they have plenty ventilation and its warm.
The pool I ordered on amazon around $50-$60, so worth it. Its by Intex. Vinyl, easy to wipe out, there's a drain in it, the other day I filled it up in the basement and put the pool drain right over top the drain in the basement floor. Put a dozen + fatheads in it, and those ducks were so happy, when done I popped the drain plug and presto....lol...I love it, only problem is jojo mates with her in water and being its so deep, I have to watch them bc he will hold her head under water while mating and I know its not intentional but I don't want her to drown.. Smh, my duckies, lol

Cannot stand how cute they are in your house on that rug around all that dark and beautiful furniture and flooring.  The little puffs really pop out in this photo.
. I wish I know what size diaper I should use. At this time they poop and I'm the poopy scooper with sanitizer. Lol. We are really happy they are doing so good with 2 dogs and a cat.
