Show off your house ducks!

I have had dogs do that when they our sick or in heat. Or injured. I have also had cats do that. My pig he eats when he wants all the time if you let him. If you don't feed him at 4 am every morning he will meet you at the door . He has arthritis . So he shouldn't move out of his pen. Put he loves his dad. My rooster did that when he got hurt when I was in hospital. He wanted my attention treats of his choices there funny that way.

Who ever had the idea of an iv line for Amykins with syringe and aquirium tubing. Please tell me how to put it together I alway have a lest one or two chicks coming out of the incubator that need ivs. I never can get across town fast enough.
Rubber catheter type feeding tubes are dirt cheap, as in less than $1 each from a medical supply store. They come in "French" sizes from 3-34. The smaller the number, the smaller the tube. The smallest one I use is an 8 and I use that on all baby chicks. I think metal crop tubes are sized in gauges, so for those the smaller the number, the larger the tube. The sizes I use most are 8, 10, 16,18 and 30.
Here is the size 8

Here are the sizes:

@tracyjg , IV's for chicks? Do you mean tubing fluids and food or giving fluids IV or subcutaneously? Tubing fluids and food is dead easy, and subcutaneously fluids can be done fairly easily if you've had some experience doing them on mammals.

I have had new borns throu less then a week old. Some where injured when hatched . We tried to fix the best we could. Some eat and drank at first . And stoped. Some didn't eat or drink at all. Even when trying to introduce. Some of them have a genetic issues. The vet says its in the male gene in all my roosters.so right now. I trying to figure out. If hope my duck can safely deliver them. I don't want to put all my roosters down. I probably need to have both.

My hens will not be mothers.but (hope) has done it before.we our getting another one that was her friend in a 30 mins. My partner went to get her. I have to stay at house. My bunny has kits that is very late. She hasn't delivered yet. We our try to wait a few days to see what happens. Before we take her to the vet.and I have a baby chicken that hatched in incubator. I can't wait to see her.

If you think you might want to tube them, get some of the tubes in post #5242 either online or from your vet. They are less than $1 each from that website, but probably closer to $5 each from a vet. If you decide you need them, and want to learn how to tube, I can teach you.

Thank you all so much...I'm still so scared and sad but I don't have any choice other than just keep trying. :/ I just don't want to give up my precious Wobs.

I have had some of them stop breathing on me. I tryed mouth to mouth cpr. And not work with hair dryer on low and warm.

Oh dear, when was this? Did they just stop breathing on their own or did it happen after a tube feeding or something?

On their own. I just had one born two days ago. That was Pearlized I tryed to fix his feet. But the umbilical cords is attached to small intestants . So when they pull the umbilical cord they pull small intestants out. I had one die yesterday a 24 hr old chick. I watching other two very closely
