Need a better picture (closer) but since he has a name of chubby cheeks I am guessing he has muffs so not a leghorn. He is also the wrong color for a leghorn, but he is pretty no matter what he is. Good luck with him.
I absolutely LOVE this guy!!!!! I love the blue with the red!!!!!!! Prob one if my favs I have seen.
Sorry but not all do. The can have variations in color depending on bloodline and incestial breeding. Google " american brown leghorn* and go thru pics.Quote:He looks like a american brown leghorn to me but if he does have muffs, he could be a cross of something with amer brown leghorn. Just a guess but he is absolutely gorgeous![]()
Male brown leghorns have a black breast.![]()

I'm not trying to fight, just point out and educate. When I typed in exactly what you said I seen photos of birds that look like the bird in question in color, I also seen silver laced wyandottes and all to. It happens when I google pictures of sumatra chickens ( get tigers) and or lakenvelders chicken (even get cows with them). Google is not always the best for seeing what a chicken breed should look like since it's based on what the person who posted the picture lists it as, or close to what you searched for.
Brown leghorns whether light or dark have a black breast. Black tail red leghorn should have a dark red breast. Buff leghorns should not have the black in the tail (whole body should be buff colored).
I would love to see a closer picture of this bird as he looks like one of my mom's olive egger roosters just in smooth feathers were as my mom's rooster is frizzled. Might have to try and get a picture of my mom's rooster.
He is BEAUTIFUL!He is gorgeous! I love the high contrast black/white. His comb is impressive as well. I've always been a fan of big single combs on roosters.
