It was just a test hatch to find out what kind of egg color gene my rooster has. I kept two girls and this boy, and a friend has two other pullets. My main project is to get dominant rooster's color to breed true. End goal is to refine the Easter Eggers into a breed that is bright red, and are green egg layers, with fluffy cheeks and pea combs.

That sounds like a gorgeous breed! I love me a red chicken (as long as it's not an (production) RIR, those things are nasty!)

Depends on the parentage. NH cock x BR hen will give you sex links - black females with red in the hackle/breast, males who are single barred (phenotypically cuckoo-esque) with some red leakage in the wing bow/hackle/saddle. BR cock x NH hen will get you offspring that all look like the cocks of the sex link cross, single barred with some red leakage, although females will show less than males.
