This little guy is Pip. He is a Cuckoo Maran mix, that spent a few weeks in chicken rehab after being scalped. He is my 6 year old favorite and is due for caponizing on the 18th, so that he doesn't end up like his father (super aggressive due for freezer camp soon). After his surgery he will be a pampered very well loved capon!

This is my hatchery bred gold duckwing Phoenix rooster. Today I could probably win a worst molt with a picture of my junior Phoenix rooster who only has 1 tail feather left and is smaller looking than all 10 of my hens.

Below are pictures of my rooster. His name is "Moon" & is an Easter Egger. He's still a bit selfish & acts like a greedy hen. But he's pretty gentle & will eat out of my hand. Otherwise he stays aloof around humans & that's how I like him. As of this week his spurs are just starting to grow in.

Moon crows early in the day to greet the morning sun, but is otherwise quiet (though often grumbly when I'm not giving treats) and he doesn't dare crow in my presence. He tried to crow near me a month ago but I put him in his place. The training I did with him prior seems to have helped. I'm hoping it will stay that way - we'll see when his hormones kick in fully.

12 weeks old.

19 weeks old (Sept 26th)

He would have an even fuller & longer tail if it weren't for the other turkey (BBB) mistaking his feathers for green leaves. I'm hoping they'll regrow by Spring.
