yes they are mottled black cochins, I have 4 boys to my three girls in straight run chicks, I'm going to have to separate out those boys eventually, they will have to live in my large fowl shed as bachelors. They just don't know that yet, so young and innocent. He sure is and I love the mottled one on the right too isn't that what they call the color on those?
They are beautiful so you just keep your roos? no matter how many you have? lolI'm partial to the darker one
That's great you can do that. I find if I keep more than 2 they really work over my hens and I have no way to keep them separate so I try and find homes or we put extras in the freezer, but it sure is hard.I give everyone a chance, I have found I can keep extra bantam roosters, they run around making a bit of trouble, I can't bring myself to cull nice roosters, we did cull a polish because he had no redeeming qualities. I currently have three LF, and 12 bantam roosters.
These are my old bachelor wise guys. They are six going on seven years old.

I have goose jail but no room for chicken jail although if I put them in with the geese they may learn a lesson or 2.I haven't had this many boys in a while, I'm going to do my best to keep them all, though some will spend time in chicken jail, better than the freezer. See what I can pull off.
