BO's are a favorite of mine as well. So far he is gentle and well behaved. Hopefully he continues.

i've never had orpingtons myself but i like that they look a bit like my favorite breed, cochins. ae they around the same size?

Oh my, it's not a good thing for me to go looking up chickens. I see too many and just add to the wish list! It's like window shopping or something.
Well, I did not know so..I went to Meyer Hatchery site (that's where he came from). The average on their BO rooster is 8 1/2lb., their Cochins average is 11lb. so I am assuming the Cochin is bigger.
They have some fluffy bums don't they! Meyer has Blue, Partridge & White Cochins, just lovely!

I thought my Charlie was a big boy, but the Cochin must be something to see!

He does shine! I've had BO for years and never had one that wasn't gentle. Including the rooster. They keep getting prettier with every year.

i have a white Japanese bantam myself.  he's got this lovely gold tint to his feathers, and golden wing patches.  right no he is very fat.  i don't know how he got that way because his aen't fat but they aren't wanting for any food either.  his hens are two lovely sebrights.  he's also got three daughters who will join him in the Spring. 

Alibaba is still going through his molt hes working on getting all his feathers in. He is a lovely bird. My son is excited to show him and 2 of his hens in a few months.
