Cochin? I don't know the correct sizzle frizzle or frazzled to go with the rest of their description. But oh my they are darlings. Love blue cochins, totally obsessed with blue chickens.I do not have any of the special feathered breeds yet but I maybe tempted.

Yes, good thing he's a looker. I've got several people wanting him, (for dinner.) but I'm still wanting chicks from him, so he stays for now . He tried to attack me from his pen multiple times today, but all he got was chunks out of my garden boots. :b I keep telling him "good thing your pretty..." Lol

Mean roosters tend to pass that temperament on. It's not worth it.

He is Handsome, but I tend to agree with @junebuggena if he's a fighter then I wouldn't keep him.
For some reason I don't want to have to gear up for battle when I feed, water, clean or go in for an inspection

Yes, you guys are right. I'm only keeping him long enough to get my chicks from him. I plan to give away the rooster from a hatching as meat chickens (I already have takers on that front) and will keep any hens. I'll give him till early summer and if I don't get chicks by then, I'll start over with a nicer rooster. We will see what happens. I put a gate on the backside of my pen today and will finish it up tomorrow so I can put them in the back pen while I clean up and refill the feeders.

I got this guy on Sunday, he's a red jungle fowl. Wasn't going to get a roo for my flock of 5 egg layers, but a cooper's hawk kept coming around. (it even tried to come through my house window once to get at my dove!) Anyway he's a fine roo and seems to be getting along great.

Were you told pure jungle fowl? looks kind of like a game bantam.... not a bad thing.
