Oh, his actual name is 'Chanticleer'... after hero from the kids' cartoon movie 'Rock-a-Doodle' that our kids loved watching when they were little.

But thanks for the insight to his possible breed, Junebuggena, as we really had no clue LOL. He was in a batch of six straight runs from Tractor Supply, that resulted in him, two red hens, two Plymouth Rock hens and a Buff Orpington hen.

Here is our Chanticleer. He's about 15 months old now and stands somewhere between a foot and a half and two feet tall (I've been meaning to put a yard stick up in the coop and catch him standing next to it so I can be more accurate - but it's closer to 2 feet). His body size is roughly between football and basketball. He does a great job of keeping things in order around his coop! - oh, quick edit... those are white feathers in his tail, not just a background lighting effect. They just started showing up over the past couple of months, and have grown a bit longer since this pic was taken.
Wow! Look at the waddles! Handsome feller you have there!

wow! stunning he looks more like a welsummer to me

Ashes is turning into a perfect little model. He stays where I put him, just doesn't do well around food. He was quite happy reaching out and snagging a hawthorn berry every time I tried to focus.
