Show Pen Shavings

Hi Group,
I'm seeking advice on preparing Old English Game Bantams for showing. I purchased some of the show wire pens to place my granddaughter's Bantams in to prepare the birds for showing. She has large animals in the barn and keeps cedar shavings down for her calves. I have never seen anyone use cedar shavings with show poultry. Is there a problem using the cedar, or should I get some pine shavings? Thanks for any advice you may share.

Last I heard cedar was bad for chickens. Something respiratory

Cedar shavings have aromatic oils that are bad for the respiratory system.

Pine shavings can also cause problems unless they are kiln dried, as most pet pine shavings are.
