sorry for posting this twice, no one responded to my last post.

I was researching showing and thought my brahma bantam might have what it takes! I'm looking for tips on how to make a chicken look its best when showtime comes around. thanks in advance!

Before I take any of my birds to a show...I make sure that they are as close to the written standard as possible and are in perfect health. I check for any defects for the breed and color.....The birds should be free of ANY parasite. I bathe the birds when needed....I use wheat-germ oil on their combs, wattles, and legs to shine them up....it absorbs better and is more natural than Vaseline...etc....I trim beaks and toenails and everyday I work with the birds to calm them and to get them use to the judges handling. Then the bird goes to the show...I hold my breath and pray....[IMG]
