Okay, so I went to the national western stock show to see the poultry show, and decided that I wanted to try out showing with my bantam Brahma. the CPA (colorado poultry assoc.) has a show in april, and I was wondering about showing tips..... anything that might help!
Thanks in advance!

Well.... Here are some things that are helpful:
1. Wash your bird a week or so before so then it can preen their feathers so then they're shiny again.(If it's white use dawn to get it clean)
2. Put Vaseline on their combs and legs
3. Make sure they don't have mites (If so, use some sevin dust or WD40 for their legs)
4. Make sure you provide your birds with enough food and fresh, clean water
5. Ask other breeders of your bird about how good your bird is/ actually listen or look at the judges comments
6. Study the APA/ABA Standard to see how good your bird is.

There are probably a few others that I can't think of right now

I think that giving my chickens a bath is my favorite part of showing; they love it! I used to spray them with some oil to make them shiny, but I found that petting them with a silk scarf makes them just as shiny, and they really enjoy it.
