Is he a true solid Blue Marans with no copper in the genetics?
If he is truly a solid Blue Marans, no doubt you will have a very easy time finding him a home. Solid Blue, Black and Splash Marans with no copper in their genetic background are very rare and even harder to get a hold of.
That said......many "solid" Marans are truly Copper Marans that are melanised birds. Melanisation and continual breedings of melanised birds will produce birds that will not show their copper genetics and make the bird appear solid, though they are not. Some will show some leakage of red in the hackle, saddle and wing bow area as they mature. Melanisers will cover the copper and make it appear solid looking blue or black depending on the color of the bird.
He is still very young and will change alot between now and the time that he matures around a 1 year old. He can even change up until about 2 years old.
By the looks of him.....I think he is going to be a very nice sized male. He has several good qualities about him already at this young age.
