Greetings, everyone.

I hope you're all having a wonderful hoilday weekend with those you love. Assuredly, all is splendid up north here in South Bend, Indiana.

My friends, I'm in search of some sincere and sound advice....

My daughter Madelyn (12) would love to participate in 4H next year in the Poultry Division and we are interested in acquiring 6 Silver Laced Wyandotte Hens. She is simply enamored with this splendid and stunning breed. This will be our first attempt at raising "city" chickens, hence the reasoning for the female persuasion. We have been instructed to purchase from a breeder instead of a hatchery to secure the "standards of perfection" such as the correct body type, correct tail angle and stunning lacing. We simply would like to add some friends to our family who will supply us with a nutritious bounty and would double as a project for Madelyn in 4H as she strives to gain knowledge and continues to pursue her dream of becoming a Farm Veterinarian. In return, we will provide our feathery friends with fantastic shelter, healthy feed and plenty of hugs. Please...we are searching for hens that will not be disqualified for any reason or deemed "Not Show Quality". We've recently been party to a heartbreaking scenario after purchasing eggs from an individual on eBay (I know...lesson learned) where only 2 of 13 eggs hatched, and both sweet chicks were born with cross beak. Rest assured, we love our sweet buddies dearly, they simply just can not be shown in 4H.

At your earliest convenience, could you advise me and please tell me if anyone on the Forum has any "show quality?" (if such a thing can be established, at this point) chicks or even eggs that we would be able to purchase or is anyone aware of or have a friend who is a breeder of Silver Laced Wyandottes who could possibly fill this order? You may also email me offline if you wish. Bless all of you for your time and kind replies and God's peace to you and yours...always.

Blessings!
