My daughter is entering her first 4H show next weekend. Anyone want to help a special needs kid get a leg up?

Any special foods/herbs/vitamins you feed your show birds?
Favorite shampoo for bathtime?
Does PINK glosser really work? How about the silk rag technique? Coconut oil?

Any other secrets from the pros?

You can rub olive oil on the legs( to make them shiny) and put petrolym jelly on the comb and wattles( to moisterize them) plus if you have a black chicken you can rub a silK hankerchief on its feathers to bring out the rich black green of its feathers.

Gorgeous birds, muddyhorse!

She is showing a Welsummer and Easter Egger (production class....this is 4H). The Welllie is not necessarily a SQ bird, but does meet standards.

I give my show birds the Manna Pro show feed, you should add 25% of this feed to your regular feed, I only use the silk rag for my Black birds, you can use baby shampoo. Anything that isn`t harsh.

you can use the silk on any color bird 50 swipes. It just shows up better than on other colors white for example. I feed my birds mazuri gamebird breeder kibbles, wheat, and a little cat food ( which is also good when they are molting) I bathe my silkies in flea shampoo and my other birds as well, dawn dish soap works too just make sure you rinse good. do this 3-4 days before the show so the birds can redistribute the oils n the feathers.
