I bet they will, its hard to find pictures of them (Javas in general), but the ones I have seen all the birds are beautiful. In case anyone is wondering about the 2 Java, they were hatching eggs from Superior Farm. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired and any of my questions about their Java were unanswered. I will not order from them again.

My next try at Black Java, I bought hatching eggs off eggbid. Again only 2 eggs hatched, but the chicks did look like the Black Java.

They both are doing well but don't seem to be growing as fast as the first set. One looks just like the hen and the other one I'm not so sure about. It does have the black legs, yellow on the bottom of its feet and yellow skin. but it is about 1/2 the size of the other one and hasn't feathered out completely yet. (Don't mind the plastic and cardboard in the picture. I have Guinea hens in the cage and covered them up to keep the sun off them that day. The white chicken butts are the Delaware chicks. Both the Delaware and Java are the same age and size so you can sort-of see that this one is TINY!)

Boy does it have spunk and it doesn't hang out much with the rest of them. Like you mentioned, the Java stay tight together. They are all very friendly, calm and easy to pick up.

I would like more next year, my goal was to have 12 or so laying hens and 2 roosters. I think I will try and order from urch in the spring.

Sonoran-That is exactly what a breeder close to me though but couldn't answer the question if the offspring of these will be black or mottled. What would your guess be? Would you consider them worthy of breeding? I am hoping for Black not Mottled.

Keep the pictures coming!

Those will be black. My mottled were about 2/3 to 3/4 white as chicks and they never got black breasts like that until they feathered in, already had mottling on their first breast feathers. Yours are for sure black.

Here is some of my Javas. There are three roosters and some hens.

These are great looking birds the rooster is very handsome isn't he.... I was worried about the color of legs and I see yours are the same as the ones I have.

I hope the tail on mine get fuller like the one on yours.

If it were earlier in the year I would love some of your eggs. We have about a month to go before the frost hits around here and I think the chicks wouldn't do well in the cold. I could be wrong but wouldn't want to chance it. I do hear they are very hardy birds.

I will keep it in mind and check back in the spring to see if you would have some then.

I was told awhile back that I wouldn't be able to keep several roosters in the same pen. How do your's live? In the same or seperate pens?

I would like to keep all the birds together in the same pen. 12 hens and 2 roosters. What do you think?

the two black java are in the same pen and get along fine. the mottled is in a pen with the hens and one rosecomb rooster
