I use an old dresser for my nest boxes. I wasn't sure how well it was going to work when I first put it in the coop, but I've had for about a year and a half now and it has worked well. This is it

dont have a pic of my chickens in it but this Rubbermaid stool is now the favorite nest for my 6 layers, they wait in line and sometimes two are in there together! So much for buying "nest boxes"

Finnally figured out how to post a pic.anyway nothing speical, just milk crates.

I was going to do this but putting them on their bottom side. Did this idea work good for you?

Made mine from a commercial grade fiberglass board for easy cleaning and sanitation.

Where do you get those black trays?

Need more dish pans but there will be 17 nest boxes . 2x2s going across in front of the boxes for the girls to choose their favorite box. I'll be adding curtains too cause I'm nerdy like that whole coop is decked out in vinyl too ! Now onto the next parts of the coop but wanted to share my boxes !
