Show your crazy chicken cross breeds

I just hatched out a bunch of new babies yeah, some of which were eggs from a friend that she thought were pure black copper Marans. It looks like one of them is a Black Copper Marans and Silver Laced Wyandotte cross. They're only a couple days old but I sure wonder what they'll look like.

I definitely have some crazy crosses. This girl, Scarlet Avocado, is my favorite. Her mama is an Olive Egger (Crested Cream Legbar and Welsummer) and her pops is a Swedish Flower Hen. I'm calling her a Flowery Olive Egger. Her eggs are a lovely olivey mint.




I'd love to see your crazy crossed barnyard mixes.

All of my fancier chickens are now separated out in their own coops by breed but we got some fun ones in the interim.

This is a Partridge Cochin and Welsummer cross that looks like a bit like Black Copper Marans. She lays pink eggs with white speckles.

He's huge!!! How much do you suppose he weighs?

I wish I had a photo but I had a buff orpington and Swedish flower hen cross. He was tiny and crested but only had a patch of pattern on the back of his neck. I gave him to a friend of mine.

He has a crow, that sounds alot like Elvis Presley! Long, Low and soft.
