He just happened to be walking by my 'puter while the site was loading, so I said:

Look! Ain't they just cute as a button?!?

Him: Ummmm, what are they? (Remember, ex commercial chicken farmer)

Me: They're silkies! and I think they're darling!

Him: How the *&%#$! do they see?

Me: Well, I don't guess they do, not very well at least.

Him: How the *&%#$! do they keep from running into things???

Me: Well, not too easily, I guess.

Him: walks away shaking his head

I'm tempted to get a few silkies this spring, if for no other reason than I like to mess with his head. *evil giggle*

LO. Wait till PC gets into this thread lol. I have silkies and they see fairly well. They are very smart. They wait there head feathers by flicking up water. Then they shake and the feathers are up Its really cool

Sometimes I put one of those itty bitty teeny tiny baby barrettes on my silkies to hold up their crest so that they can see where they are going. You can also pluck out the feathers that are right next to their eyes towards the beak. That helps their vision without wrecking their crest for shows.
