for context I'm in Texas so keep the heat in mind but, i want to show a bantam Cochin if theres a different breed that is better for beginners then please suggest but if not what color would be the best?

maybe i should get a regular? I've never worked with bantams before

I would start with OEGBs, or AGBs. They're not as fluffy, & hard feathered, easier to keep clean.

Are either of their hens nice I want to use it for showing then integrate the hen into my home flock
Game hens, especially OEGBs tend to be abit on the bossy side, but can be integrated fairly easily.
They're popular because they're small, & sassy.

if I hand-raise the hen are they usually up for pets and sitting with me? I like having lap chickens :) also I only have large fowl will she be ok?

It's upto the individual chicken on cuddliness.
I have bantams with larger birds. They've been fine.
