I have signed up my Silverlace Wyndotte cockerel for our fall fair thinking that I would just drop him off and the judges would look at him through the cage and that was all.
After reading my "Raising Chickens" book I soon realised that there is a lot more to showing chickens then I had thought.
My question is do I just have to train him to be held or is there anything else I should do? I know about washing him and treating him for fleas etc.
Thanks for your help in advance!

You may want to post in the Breeds, Genetics and Showing portion of the Forum (under Chicken Breeds)

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. You will need to handle him. If your fair is something like ours, the bird will need to stand on a table in front of you along with other birds. You don't want him flying off the table. You should also know many facts about your breed. Good luck. :thumbsup
