showing guineas

the guineas I've seen at shows seemed bigger, with darker ground color, larger white dots, huge wattles and helmet. hard tellin besides that. they were also unusually quiet.

Thanks! Today was the last day of our 4-H fair and we also had our open poultry show today. As I thought, we were the only ones who entered our guineas. My DS brought home 1st, 2nd and 3rd. LOL. He also brought home 2 new keets. Everyone was completely surprised at how he could carry them around. The judges didn't even want to look at them out of their cage. I think they were afraid of them

BTW in case you didn't see this there is a page for standard of perfection of guineas. There are only 3 recognized colors for standard though there are 22 colors of guineas. This page describes what to look for and what would disqualify them.

Hope that helps roocrazy. Again, my birds were shown at the county fair. The judges weren't so picky there. They didn't touch them much less weigh them LOL
