I have 3 snowflake bobwhite quail eggs ready to hatch. I decided to poke saftey holes after the first interal pip. They have started pecking but no large holes. There are a few cracks and little pips but thats all we are at day 22 or 23. I was just putting it out there to hear opinions and stuff

I hope you have a good hatch!

I do not poke safety holes-- too much danger in hurting the hatch

As of now it has been 12 hours since external pip. I read it can take up to 24 hours. I knocked the incubator and i am afraid it may have died from stress. I know that i am probably overreacting because this is my first ever hatch.

1 just has a saftey hole and no pip yet
One use the saftey hole to pip with and the other pip all on its own

Do any of yall have any tips or advice ?

It's been years since I hatched eggs, but I remember there would be very little activity during the day, and then a bunch more chicks in the morning. I never figured out if it was darkness or quiet that made the difference, or if the real difference was that I was sleeping and didn't feel so impatient :)

I feel the same way. Yesterday there was nothing and this morning when i checked they had externally piped
