Hi,
I know that some people use shredded paper for bedding for their hens but does anyone know if the ink on the paper, or glue (if it's envelopes) is harmful to the hens if they eat it?
Thanks.

Chickens eat lots of things that are not good for them. Ask anyone who housed their poultry around Styrofoam.

We ourselves have trace elements of God knows what in our body.

Yes they may eat a few strand of this or that but chances are not enough to hurt them. They all know where the good stuff is.

I never heard of anyone loosing chickens to ink, paper, or glue but there is always a first.

I was am bedding my birds with wood pellets for over a year now I am sure they ate some. None of them died.

They are also able to pick out a peanut and scratch feed from among the wood pellets (how do you explain that).
