Shrink bags for half chickens?

Shrink bags look much better for freezing than vacuum bags, but does anyone know if they work for chickens that have been split in half? A whole 8# roaster is a bit much for our family so i usually split them and vacu pack that way, but i want to try shrink bagging this time

Yes they work. I use them for leg and thigh quarters all the time. If you need any info, I will gladly answer any question you have.

I'm particularly worried about the sharp edges of bone cutting the plastic. Not a worry? I've seen the packages of just legs or quarters,but that doesnt have the whole bony underside of a half chicken.

I use the styrofoam tray and blood towelette to give it a "professional" look. The styrofoam protects the plastic from cutting. I know these are breast, but all of mine are packaged like this.
