Staggered hatch... one chick pipped and the membrane around the chick looks dry and papery. I upped the humidity, but I do not have a hydrometer. Its been around 10-12 hours since it pipped. I haven't assisted yet but I moistened the membrane with some water on a Q-Tip and I could still see small veins. I'm just going to leave him alone to finish up but I was wondering... is it possible that he will die overnight? How exactly would he die? Just a question :)

Is the membrane brown? I would put coconut oil on the membrane instead of water, it will stay moist longer.

Update, he was still stuck by morning so i peeled the membrane back a bit, making sure there was no veins. A while later I came to check on him and voila, he was out! Perfectly healthy chick!
