Shrink Wrapped Chicks

How do you know if your chick is shrink wrapped??

if it makes no progress over much of the day it could be shrink wrapped... has there been a humidity change? has someone opened the bator?
i have had fairly good success helping them out if they are - but I know a lot of people recommend against this...

My pre-coffee thoughts are wouldn't a package that's shrink wrapped be almost air tight so it wouldn't be done as the chicks would suffocate. I haven't gotten chicks through the mail but it seems to me they would be in marked live animal packages with several air holes.
