Where you see empty space, that's what I would like to see off, so look under the shell there's a lot of shell that you can safely remove, just remove any empty space up to his membrane..

Should I try to clip some of the stickiness around the hole? It's just green/yellow goo with no vessels...

I was able to get a good bit from the bottom.. He's trying to push that foot out on top & peeping at my daughter who is singing to him..
