so, i lost three ducklings to what i think appears to be shrink wrapped membranes. i dont have a camera at the moment and am unable to find any pictures to coorelate to my problem so i am wondering if anyone has any pictures of this problem so i can see to compare to what i saw when i opened the eggs.
i had one duckling hatch a day earlier than the 28 day mark. i beleive what happened is the humidity level affected them extremely when i opened the bator to get out the dry duckling. im really not sure though.
what i saw when i opened the remaining eggs were fully formed ducklings, looking at the membrane through the air cell there were some parts of the inner membrane that was "folded" over or had little creases. the outer membrane near the shell was quite dry.
my remaining duckling didnt have this when i touched his shell after he was out of the bator.

and i guess on a last note i'll ask this here as well, if anyone has any indian runner mallards, i'm interested in purchasing eggs, seeing as i now have fawn and white runners, and 1 baby mallard runner. thanks

i dont have a pic, but I open my bator quite often to take out dry chicks and as long as you do it superquick, it shouldnt effect humidity that drastically.

Maybe this will bump you up the question ladder and someone else can help too.

thanks camelot farms for your input, and the bump.

anyone help me out?
and also, should i maybe continue to mist my eggs during the 25-28(or whenever they hatch) day period to increase humidity?
i misted my eggs for the 1-25 day period.
