Shutting them in at night?

I don't worry too much about human preditors...just keep a few extra birds on hand. If a man is hungry enough to brave my wrath...let him have the bird. It's not worth the fight.
As to all other evil critters, ALWAYS keep those birds closed up at night. There isn't a fence made that will keep out a determined cat!!! That's experience talking.

Yes, you have to close them in...every single night. Don't chance leaving the coop open...you'll regret it. It only takes one time...
