shuttle launch today! :)

That was a cool video. It's really depressing to see the beginning of the end for the shuttle program. I guess from here on out it will just be corporations running the show. It's a shame. I know it's the only way, but it's still a shame.

Makes me feel really old. I remember watching the 1st 10 launches or so and the feeling of awe. The devastation caused by the Challenger tragedy, then years later the Columbia. Makes me wonder if we'll ever have another really defining moment that makes us stand out. It was stuff like the space program that used to really get the ole American pride stoked up. I know we can't afford it as a country, but I wish they could set some other lofty goal and achieve it.

Where did you jump? Was it up here in DeLand? Very cool experience for you, I'm sure... we were able to go to the turn basin today to watch the launch with my husband who is an engineer on the shuttle. So bittersweet.

Royd, awesome photo the night launches were always my favorite...absolutely stunning and awe-inspiring. I have watched many launches in person...from the apollos to the shuttles....and I like you was watching theChallenger...from the law of our lawfirm right on the river. I remember first completely shock and then nothing but tears and prayers.

I would have loved to have done a shuttle jump, it must have been too incredible for words.

I wasnt able to see it yesterday, we had a bit of cloud cover unfortunately. This is a picture that I took of one a year or two ago from my back field.
