Hey anyone in FL... don't forget to watch the shuttle launch this evening just before 5!!!
Makes me wish that I lived in Florida. Oh well, maybe NASA will post pictures.
Here's a video of the launch:
Thanks for the post of the video. It was awesome!
Watched it on NASA TV. Sad to see her go up for the last time.
Sorry. Double post.
I have always wanted to go watch it take off in person. Would be an awesome spectacle to see in my opinion...
I have witnessed several launches, including the tragic Challenger launch. I actually saw it, about 30 seconds after the explosion, from the 5th floor of a Jacksonville powerplant.
Here's a picture I took, from my yard, of a launch on Nov. 14, 2008...I just held the shutter open for several seconds.
I have also witnessed one, under parachute, at 13,500', along with several other jumpers...Called a shuttle jump...Timed, specifically, to get us to altitude, at the correct time...It actually broke through the clouds, about 10 seconds before we left the plane....Once in a lifetime opportunity.
Royd what a GREAT pic
I have seen lots and love them My Aunt lives on the water right across from the launch pad.. can't beat that veiw..I love night launches best..One more launch and I won't miss the last one.. Sorry to see it end
