Sitting down and clucking

One of my pullets keeps trying to fly onto the windowsill, even when it's closed. Today I opened the window but she did this thing where she sat down and made short clucking sounds very quickly for a few seconds. Has anyone else's birds done this before?

Could she be broody? How old is she? Has she started laying yet? If not, do they have a nest box available?

She eats and does everything normally. She is seven months old and has a nest box

My birds do this for hours all over the yard when they're trying to get comfortable before heading to the coop to lay eggs.

This advice I got was spot on - and is no longer an issue; she is fully integrated with everybody. Your hen may be trying to connect with you and inviting you to nest with her.

She's definitely young to consider being your top flockmate, but who knows how their brains work. All of mine are about to molt and they are *so* grouchy with each other. It's always something.
